Wraparound screen and periscope camera: Vivo prepares a camera phone in a new form factor

In late August 2020, Vivo Mobile Communications filed a patent with the National Intellectual Property Office of China. The documentation was published today, and Letsgodigital, as usual, promptly created a 3D visualization.

The entire front of the smartphone is occupied by a screen that bends around the bottom of the body and continues, taking up about a third of the rear panel. This solution allows you to use the main camera for selfies, displaying the image on a part of the folded screen.

Judging by the sketches, this is a real camera phone, which will receive five image sensors. The presence of a periscopic zoom lens is also worth noting. To the right of the camera system is an extended flash.

On the top of the smartphone there is a recess in which the power button or USB-C connector can be located. It is possible that the smartphone will be devoid of holes and cutouts, and then it will be charged wirelessly. There are no buttons on the sides of the smartphone, probably the volume will be adjusted using the screen.

The company previously released the Vivo NEX Dual Display phone.
