World’s first browser for gamers: Opera GX launches with ad blocker for iPhones and Android smartphones

Opera Software has announced the release of the mobile version of the Opera GX browser. According to the developers, this is the world’s first mobile browser designed specifically for gamers.

In May, Opera began testing and opened access to beta versions of Opera GX Mobile for Android and iOS, and now we are talking about releasing stable versions. The stable version of the Opera GX Mobile application for Android is already available for download on Google Play, but the iOS version is only available in a test version for now – let’s hope that this will be fixed soon.

Updated: The stable version of the Opera GX Mobile app has appeared in the App Store.

As noted by the developers, the mobile version of Opera GX contains many features that gamers currently use in the Opera GX desktop browser for Windows and macOS – more than 9 million users in total (as of March 2021).

For example, there is a built-in ad blocker, a blocker of annoying cookie requests and protection from cryptocurrency miners.

Opera GX Mobile also offers one-handed navigation with a quick action button with tactile feedback. It is possible to sync mobile and PC using the Flow function – it makes it easy to send files and messages between mobile and desktop browsers. According to the developers, Flow is “perfect” for sharing tutorials and character creation instructions.

The GX Corner space on the home screen provides access to gaming news, offers, and a game release calendar. In addition, Opera GX Mobile offers a ‘gaming’ design with multiple color themes in both dark and light modes.
