Two-year-old flagship Samsung Galaxy Note9 received the last big update

Samsung Electronics has finally begun rolling out the One UI 2.5 proprietary skin update for one of its 2018 flagship lines.

Galaxy Note9 smartphones have started receiving stable firmware in Germany, and expansion to more regions is expected in the coming days.

N960FXXU6FTJ3 firmware is available over the air. Recall that Samsung introduced the One UI 2.5 shell in August with the flagship Galaxy Note 20 smartphones.

New innovations include Samsung DeX wireless connectivity to TVs, Pro Video mode with custom focus, sound, exposure, zoom speed control, custom duration, and more. Samsung Keyboard adds YouTube search and horizontal split functionality. The Messages app allows you to activate an SOS alert every 30 minutes throughout the day.

One UI 2.5 should be the last major update for the Galaxy Note9, as Samsung has not included the lineup in its “Android 3 Generation” program. However, the Galaxy Note9 will continue to receive small monthly updates for at least another year, followed by quarterly security updates.
