The first drone based on a Russian car was launched

The Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development in Moscow spoke about the first drone based on a Russian car. It was LADA Vesta.

LADA Vesta has replaced the unmanned version of Ford, which has been running through the territory of the First City Hospital (City Clinical Hospital No. 1 named after N.I. Pirogov) since September 2020.

As Deptrans notes, the domestic drone was launched by scientists from the MosTransProekt research institute together with MADI (Moscow Automobile and Road Construction State Technical University). The new drone delivers patient analyzes between hospital buildings.

Research Institute Director Alexander Polyakov noted:

We are glad that today we managed to launch a drone based on the domestic Lada car. This is the first such car that performs social functions, helping the medical staff. ”

The car has already passed certification at the institute “NAMI”, for the launch they made all the necessary notes in its documents. However, by law, a pilot-operator is required to drive, who monitors traffic safety.
