Tamron announces first f / 2 zoom lens for full frame mirrorless cameras

Tamron has announced the development of a 35-150mm F / 2-2.8 Di III VXD (Model A058) fast telephoto lens. This full frame zoom lens is designed for Sony E mount mirrorless cameras.

The manufacturer promises to release the Tamron 35-150mm F / 2-2.8 Di III VXD (Model A058) lens by the end of the year, but makes a reservation that the release date may change due to the global crisis caused by the pandemic.

The novelty is positioned as an ideal lens for travel photography. It covers a wide range of focal lengths, being the first zoom lens with a maximum aperture of f / 2 for full-frame mirrorless cameras with Sony E mount. This combination allows you to capture landscapes, architecture, interiors, and also take pictures in the dark. The manufacturer notes the VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-Torment Drive) linear motor, which provides high speed and accuracy of autofocus.

The lens will be compatible with Tamron Lens Utility. By connecting it to a computer using a USB-C cable, the user can update the firmware and change the Focus Set Button and focus ring settings.

The price of the lens is still unknown.
