Tamron 28-75mm F / 2.8 Di III VXD G2 (Model A063) Lens Announced

Tamron today announced the release of not only the Tamron 35-150mm F / 2-2.8 Di III VXD (Model A058), but also the Tamron 28-75mm F / 2.8 Di III VXD G2 (Model A063) before the end of the year. According to the manufacturer, this is the second generation of the standard constant aperture zoom lens for Sony full-frame mirrorless cameras, making it the successor to the 28-75mm F / 2.8 Di III RXD (Model A036).

Maintaining a compact size, the new lens has been redesigned to improve image quality. The VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-Torment Drive) linear motor is designed to increase the speed and accuracy of autofocus. By reducing the minimum focusing distance to 0.18 m (wide-angle), the designers were able to increase the maximum magnification to 1: 2.7, expanding the possibilities for close-up photography.

In addition, the lens will be compatible with the Tamron Lens Utility. By connecting it to a computer using a USB-C cable, users can update the firmware and change the Focus Set Button and Focus Ring settings.

The lens is designed for filters with a diameter of 67 mm.
