Steam adds PlayStation 5 DualSense controller support for all users

Valve has added support for Sony PlayStation 5 console controllers for the Steam gaming platform. All Steam users will now be able to play using DualSense.

The feature was previously tested and support has now been added to the stable version of the Steam client. In the list of new features of the Steam update regarding input methods, the following is noted:

Added support for PS5 controllers for Steam Input, including trackpad, gyroscope, lightbar, and vibration functions. Added directional swipe mode for use with trackpads and gyroscope. Improved support for games that use raw input for controllers. Fixed Xbox Series X controller displaying as 2 separate controllers. Fixed controller operation for some games with built-in Chrome.

Steam will update automatically. If you do not want to wait or the automatic update did not happen, then go to your client, select “Steam”, and then “Check for updates on the Steam client …”.
