Samsung unexpectedly updated the four-year flagships Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 +

Samsung launched the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 + smartphones four years ago, and just a few months ago removed them from the list of models to be updated. Nevertheless, the company released a new and rather important patch for them.

New firmware numbered G95xFXXUCDUE1 has been released for these smartphones in Bolivia. It contains the May Android security updates that address several system vulnerabilities and improve stability. The update is distributed over the air. In other countries, it will obviously become available later.

As a reminder, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 + came with Android 7.0 Nougat pre-installed. In February 2018, they received the Android 8.0 Oreo update, and in early 2019, a new version of the One UI based on Android 9 Pie.
