Samsung Electronics announced the expansion of the range of devices that support voice control using the personal assistant “Alice”.

Alice’s voice assistant has been supported by 13 audio systems released in the past couple of years, including the HW-Q950T soundbar with Q-Symphony technology, which won the Best of Innovation award at CES 2020.

Now users can turn on and off Samsung audio systems by voice, control the volume. This can be done through a smart speaker, smartphone or PC with an open browser. The new feature is available for wireless audio systems and soundbars with Dolby Atmos and Sound + support.

It was also announced that Samsung washing machines and robotic vacuum cleaners, already supported by Alice, began to understand the new commands. Now you can not only turn them on and off on command, but also pause and set the cleaning speed for vacuum cleaners.

Samsung is the first home appliance and electronics maker to add Alice support to its devices.
