Samsung Galaxy Watch4 will be the first watch with a bioimpedance sensor

According to XDA Developers editor Max Weinbach, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Watch4 smartwatch will feature the new BIA bioimpedance sensor. So far, the BIA sensor has not appeared in conventional smartwatches.

Such a sensor is commonly used in smart scales to measure the absolute and relative values of body composition parameters, including body mass index, percentage of body fat, amount of muscle tissue, and so on.

This feature will make the Galaxy Watch4 an even more useful device for health care professionals. In addition to the BIA sensor, the new watch will also feature sensors for heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, stress monitoring and more. According to previous reports, the device will not have a non-invasive blood sugar sensor. Samsung is probably still not satisfied with the performance of this new cutting edge technology.

Samsung is expected to officially unveil the Samsung Galaxy Watch4 on June 28th.
