Rosatom will spend up to 800 million rubles on the Russian OS Astra Linux

Rosatom will switch to the domestic operating system Astra Linux, the purchase amount will amount to 789 million rubles, the supplier will be the Aquarius company.

Ilya Sivtsev, CEO of Astra Linux Group, noted that this is the largest purchase of Russian operating systems, as well as the first three-year contract for the supply of Astra Linux licenses in the state corporation.

It should be noted that this is a framework agreement, according to which Rosatom will be able to make purchases within the limit of 798 million rubles without a tender, but it is not a fact that the final deliveries will reach this amount. It includes not only the cost of operating system licenses, but also maintenance work, the number of which cannot be determined in advance.

Denis Korsakov, head of the domestic system software department at Softline Group of Companies, is confident that this largest supply will set a precedent for import substitution. And already in 2021, we can expect a large-scale transition of organizations to new domestic software.

The general director of the company “Basalt SPO”, which develops the OS “Alt”, Alexey Smirnov, confirms the significant interest of state corporations in domestic solutions.
