MIUI 12.5 for the most daring and courageous Xiaomi and Redmi users: how to get it right now

Xiaomi only on Monday presented to the public the updated proprietary MIUI 12.5 shell. The most daring and daring users of Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco smartphones can already install early test builds and try out the new product.

Xiaomi is currently conducting a closed beta test among Chinese users. However, the XDA Developers community of mobile developers has begun publishing ready-to-download and install builds for those outside the ranks of Chinese testers but wanting to join.

Note that this is not only a very early stage of testing, fraught with numerous errors and troubles. Chinese firmware differs markedly from international, including available services. For example, it lacks the usual Google services and applications, including the Google Play app store. Also, an unlocked bootloader is required for installation.

At the moment, assemblies are available for such smartphones:

Redmi 10X 5G – Based on Android 11 Redmi 10X Pro – Based on Android 11 Redmi Note 9 5G – Based on Android 11 Xiaomi Mi 9 – Based on Android 11 Redmi K30 Ultra – Based on Android 11 Redmi K20 / Xiaomi Mi 9T – Based on Android 11 Xiaomi Mi 9 SE – Based on Android 11 Redmi Note 7 / 7S – Based on Android 10 Xiaomi Mi CC9e – Based on Android 10 Poco X2 / Redmi K30 4G – Based on Android 11 Redmi K30 5G – Based on Android 11 Redmi K30i 5G – Based on Android 11 Redmi K20 Pro / Mi 9T Pro – Based on Android 11 Xiaomi Mi Note 10 / Mi CC9 Pro – Based on Android 11 Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth Edition / Mi 10 Lite Zoom – Based on Android 11 Redmi Note 7 Pro – based on Android 10

Open beta testing will be conducted in two phases starting in mid or late January. MIUI 12.5 stable builds are slated for April.
