Microsoft belatedly announced the end of the life of another version of Windows

In a document released this week, Microsoft has warned of the end of life for yet another version of the Windows operating system. Moreover, this was done with a delay of almost a month.

We are talking about the version of Windows Embedded Standard 7. Support for this OS was discontinued on October 13, 2020. Devices based on it stopped receiving updates from Microsoft of any kind, including security updates.

Microsoft advises moving such devices to the more modern Windows 10 IoT as soon as possible.

However, users have a choice – you can continue to receive support and updates for an additional fee until October 10, 2023.
