Apple released the iPhone 12 lineup in the fall of 2020, redesigning the iconic iPhone 4 with a metal bezel. Now they have a flaw.

More precisely, the lower-end models iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini have a flaw, which are equipped with an aluminum frame, unlike the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max with a steel frame.

The thematic Slovak resource SvetApple drew attention to the problem, having published a photo with the frame that had lost its previous bright red color on the iPhone 12 in the (Product) Red version. This smartphone was purchased by the editors in November 2020 and was used for work purposes. As the author of SvetApple notes, the smartphone was protected by a transparent case from the very first day after purchase, was not used in a “toxic” environment and did not come into contact with aggressive substances.

On the official Apple forum discussing the company’s products, you can find a lot of such complaints. However, problems are encountered not only with the iPhone 12, but also with the iPhone 11 with the iPhone SE 2020, which also fade aluminum parts of the case.
