In Russia, the supply of smartphones from such popular Chinese brands as Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo and Realme may be halved. This was reported by the Kommersant edition with reference to the report of GS Group analysts.

According to GS Group, in 2020, the share of imports of smartphones Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo and Realme to Russia amounted to 47%. If the United States continues to impose tough sanctions against Chinese manufacturers, the share of these brands will decrease to 25% in 2021.

In 2020, as a result of sanctions against Huawei, the supply of smartphones from this manufacturer to Russia fell by 26%. For some time, Huawei has been banned by the US authorities from supplying components by American companies, and the company also does not have a license to use Google services and applications.

Deliveries to the Russian market of Xiaomi smartphones in 2020 increased by 20%. With regard to Xiaomi, the US authorities have just begun to take steps – in January Xiaomi was blacklisted, prohibiting Americans from investing in the company. However, at the moment, the sanctions do not apply to components and software for Xiaomi.

In total, 11 million Samsung devices, 7.7 million Huawei devices, 5.9 million Xiaomi, as well as 4 million Apple devices were imported to Russia during the year. Samsung and Apple shipments grew in 2020 by 7% and 17%, respectively.
