At the end of December 2020, Huawei introduced the Huawei Nova 8 and Nova 8 Pro smartphones, which have already gone on sale. The devices are based on the Kirin 985 single-chip system.

In January, the manufacturer released the first software update for two smartphones that improves photo quality, fingerprint scanner performance, improves smartphone stability, and includes Android security patches from December 2020.

The Huawei Nova 8 Pro features a 6.72-inch FHD + OLED display with 10-bit color depth, HDR10 high dynamic range, 80-degree curved edges and an embedded dual camera (32 + 16MP) .This is also the first Huawei device with a 120Hz refresh rate. Compared to the Nova 8 Pro, the standard version has a 6.57-inch FHD + display, a 16MP single selfie camera. The image refresh rate is 90 Hz, and the sensor layer polling rate is 240 Hz. The batteries of the new products have a capacity of 3800 and 4000 mAh, respectively, there is support for 66-watt charging. The main cameras are 64-megapixel.
