Midea has launched a series of new smart home products that run HarmonyOS, a proprietary operating system from renowned smartphone manufacturer Huawei.

The new line includes smart water heaters, dishwashers, stoves, hoods and much more. These devices can also be linked together and users can access their functions through a single smartphone. Huawei and Midea emphasize accessibility and ease of use.

First, all devices can be quickly connected and configured using a smartphone. The second important innovation is the output of information to a smartphone from devices that lack screens. This helps users to monitor and track food operating modes, receive reminders to replace consumables, and to replenish refrigerator supplies.

The third major improvement is Direct Service, which allows users to contact factory services directly with the push of a button. This is especially handy for cleaning, maintenance, repair, and even when purchasing consumables in some cases.

Back at Huawei’s developer conference in September 2020, the Chinese tech giant announced that it will work with other manufacturers and equip their devices with the HarmonyOS operating system.
