The demand for contract manufacturing of semiconductor products remains high. The industry’s production capacity is fully utilized, leading to higher prices and higher income for producers. This is stated in the TrendForce report, which also provides a forecast for the results of the fourth quarter of 2020.

Analysts expect the top 10 contract semiconductor manufacturers to surpass $ 21.7 billion in revenue this quarter, up 18% year-over-year.

TSMC will continue to occupy the first place by a wide margin, its income will grow by 21% in annual terms. The second place will be retained by Samsung, which will be able to increase its revenue by 25%. But GlobalFoundries will leave the top three, as its income in annual terms will decrease by 4%, while UMC’s income will grow by 13%, which will be enough to take the third place.
