Fresh Nvidia driver removes mining limiter with only one GeForce RTX 3060 in the system

Yesterday it became known that the Nvidia GeForce 470.05 driver does not contain an Ethereum mining limiter. Nvidia probably accidentally released the software, forgetting to add the appropriate algorithms to it.

At the same time, it was previously believed that both a driver and a suitable BIOS are needed to remove the limiter, but, as we can see, only the first is enough.

However, there is one caveat. As it turned out a little later, the specified driver removes protection only from the first video card in the system. That is, if we are talking about a farm, then only one card will show normal performance during Ethereum mining, which in most cases is also relatively efficient. At the same time, of course, miners can mine other cryptocurrencies, so in general, Nvidia’s protection does not save the situation.

In the end, even though no one really hacked the protection itself, Nvidia itself gave the miners a favor.
