Bitcoin has set a new record, approaching $ 49,000 after The Bank of New York Mellon (BNY Mellon) announced the formation of a new division. Its mission is to help clients store, transfer and issue digital assets.

The bank said the new division, dubbed the Digital Assets Division, will present its customer offerings later this year.
