ASRock Rack Ready M.2 Graphics Card

ASRock Rack Ready M.2 Graphics Card

ASRock Rack, a subsidiary of ASRock that manufactures servers and server motherboards, has unveiled perhaps the strangest graphics card. The new product is called M.2_VGA and is designed to be installed in an M.2 slot that supports PCIe.

The M.2-2280 board has a Silicon Motion SM750 GPU with 16 MB of internal memory, designed for embedded systems. It uses PCIe 3.0 x1 interface to connect to the host. The analog video signal is routed to a small connector connected by a cable to the D-Sub connector on the mounting plate. Another connector on the board is for power supply. The video adapter supports a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.
