Apple is not discouraged. IPhone will also have subscreen Touch ID

Apple continues to work on under-screen fingerprint sensor technology and may release an iPhone with hidden Touch ID in the future. This was reported by an authoritative network informant.

Subscreen Touch ID in Apple smartphones has been expected by analysts, informers, journalists and fans for several years. These rumors first surfaced before the launch of the iPhone X in 2017, the first bezel-less iPhone with bangs and Face ID. The development was also reported by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of TF Securities, known for his ties to Apple’s supply chain. However, despite signs of indeed ongoing development, Apple has yet to implement the technology into products on the market.

This time, the information came first from a source named L0vetodream, who announced Apple’s plans to embed “MESA” under the iPhone screen. Following this, another reputable network whistle-blower Jon Prosser clarified that “MESA” is the internal codename for the Touch ID fingerprint scanner. They do not report the timing of this grandiose event.

Since all iPhones expected in 2020 have already been presented, we can only hope that Apple can get rid of the “bangs” and Face ID in favor of subscreen Touch ID at least in 2021.

Note that L0vetodream has already come true predictions such as the appearance of the iPhone 12 Mini, the exact characteristics of the iPhone SE 2020 and the new iPad Pro.
