Apple has slashed orders for the iPhone 12 mini to boost production of the iPhone 12 Pro. The move was taken to increase production capacity for the more expensive iPhone 12 model, which is in high demand.

According to MacRumors, the Cupertino-based giant has cut production of the iPhone 12 mini by two million smartphones. At the moment, the iPhone 12 Pro can be shipped up to 10 days, the highest for any model in four years.

Just two weeks earlier, the delivery time for iPhone 12 models hit 22 days before Apple ramped up production. The downsizing of the iPhone 12 mini shouldn’t be a big deal, as the model has had weak sales and only managed to capture 6 percent of the total iPhone 12 series sales during the launch period.

It is also reported that the standard model iPhone 12 is hugely popular in China, accounting for 20.3% of the market, a new record in 18 months. The base model, according to the source, performed the best among all iPhones released in China over the past four years.
