AMD’s cross-platform answer to Nvidia DLSS isn’t ready yet. FidelityFX Super Resolution technology will be released simultaneously for PC and consoles

AMD is known to be preparing FidelityFX Super Resolution technology, which will work similarly to Nvidia DLSS. That is, supersampling using artificial intelligence is expected, designed to offload the GPU and improve performance.

Unlike the competitor’s technology, AMD’s solution will be cross-platform. It was believed that AMD is announcing FidelityFX Super Resolution along with the Radeon RX 6700 XT, but this did not happen yesterday. As it became known, AMD is in no hurry to announce the technology, because it wants it not only to be cross-platform, but also to run on all supported platforms at the same time. That is, on the next generation PC and PlayStation and Xbox consoles.

Unfortunately, this information does not provide an answer for when FidelityFX Super Resolution will launch, but hopefully it will happen in the coming months. On the other hand, the market still has a huge shortage of both AMD video cards and new generation consoles.
