Images of a promising AMD video card for professional use – Radeon PRO W6800 – have appeared on the Web. They show part of the cooling system with a centrifugal fan, an interface panel with six DP ports, and a printed circuit board.

At the same time, the results of a computer test based on an AMD Ryzen 9 5900X processor with 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a Radeon PRO W6800 appeared in the Geekbench database. The 3D card in the OpenCL test scored a little over 137,000 points – this is the level of the GeForce RTX 3070, but the same Radeon RX 6800 XT is gaining 157,000 points. The source explains this by a much better optimization of the drivers of the consumer models of the Radeon RX line, but after the release of the Radeon PRO W6800 and as the drivers are optimized, the performance of the video card should increase.

Finally, the characteristics. Geekbench indicates the presence of 30 compute units, but this is clearly a mistake: the 3D card is built on GPU Navi 21, which is also used in the Radeon RX 6800. Therefore, there should be 60 computational units and 3840 stream processors. The maximum GPU frequency is 2.55 GHz. 32GB of GDDR6 memory is connected to the GPU using a 256-bit bus. Considering that AMD uses 16 GHz memory chips in the RDNA2 line, the memory bandwidth should be 512 GB / s, and the fast Infinity Cache memory should be 128 MB.

According to rumors, the official premiere of the Radeon PRO W6800 will take place next week, and the cost of the new product will be announced at the same time.
