Information has emerged about which Huawei and Honor smartphones will eventually be updated to the Harmony OS operating system, known in China as Hongmeng OS.

Recently at a conference dedicated to the announcement of the smartphone Huawei Mate X2 with a folding screen, Huawei announced that from April this year it will begin to release Harmony OS for flagship smartphone models.

Since the release of this information, many users of older models have expressed concerns about whether they will receive a new operating system. As it became known, the current plan of the company includes updating all smartphones based on SoC Kirin 710 and newer single-chip systems of the company.

This means that the update should be available for smartphones and tablets equipped with Kirin 810, Kirin 820, Kirin 820E, Kirin 980, Kirin 990, Kirin 985 and Kirin 9000 mobile platforms.

According to Wang Chenglu, president of Huawei’s consumer device software business, the company plans to release Harmony OS for 200 million Huawei mobile phones this year.
