Hennessey Special Vehicles presented the production version of the Venom F5 hypercar – a prototype of this model was demonstrated in 2017, and now it has come to a real implementation. A distinctive feature of this hypercar from analogues is the use of a traditional internal combustion engine – there is no newfangled electric (or at least hybrid) power plant here.

The Venom F5 is powered by a good old gasoline engine. However, the internal combustion engine here is far from the simplest: a V-shaped eight-cylinder volume of 6.6 liters with two turbochargers. It produces 1817 hp, which, with a small mass of the hypercar (1360 kg), provides hurricane dynamics: up to 97 km / h the car accelerates in less than 2 s, to 200 km / h in 4.7 s, and up to 400 km / h – for 15.5 s. By the way, the car is so named for a reason. F5 is the maximum tornado category on the Fujita scale. The wind speed of such tornadoes exceeds the mark of 419 km / h, but the maximum speed of the Venom F5 is even higher – 500 km / h. However, the creators of the hypercar believe that the limit of their brainchild is even slightly higher – 537 km / h. That is, the Venom F5 should be faster than the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300 + …

Of course, the car received a lot of elements of racing cars: here and an adjustable suspension, and carbon-ceramic brakes, and a carbon-fiber monocoque with high torsional rigidity, and a mass of carbon fiber body elements, and a steering wheel for F1. It should be noted that the hypercar did not turn out to be completely spartan: it provides a digital dashboard on a 7-inch screen and a multimedia entertainment system with a 9-inch screen and support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Hennessey Special Vehicles expects to build 24 examples of the Venom F5. The cost of each is about $ 2.1 million.
